Lens used: Canon 300mm F4L with a 1.4x teleconverter.
Exposure: Shutter 1/800, Aperture f5.6, ISO 200.
I checked out the Wedge web cam before I left and saw that it was extremely crowded down there and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get close to the front row. I took the Canon 300mm f4L with a 1.4X teleconverter attached to the Canon EOS 7D. If I'm doing my math right, that's a 672mm f5.6 full frame equivalent. This allowed me to walk further down the beach to get away from the crowd and shoot the surfers from a more profile angle. This actually worked great as I was able to include the Corona Del Mar cliffs in the background. This gave some nice perspective and depth to the shot.
